Katharine Millie

The sun was setting quickly as we took these portraits, we were losing light…but it actually helped the images speak fall’s beauty.  Colors, sounds, the sky, become muted in autumn twilight.  All year I look forward to this season…turning leaves, the earth folding inward for a long winter’s rest.  It’s a perfect time for richly textured and moody photographs.  Katharine’s clothing was specifically chosen, and definitely illustrates a feeling of the early 1900′s.  Very Dr. Zhivago-esque isn’t it?  (the hat is from Russia – thank you Kris for letting us borrow it!)

Kristy Merrill - Beautiful work! So happy to have found you again, via Renee Sieck, after all these years. I still remember your storage tips for negatives during your QSP interview! Great to see your inspiring photos.October 21, 2009 – 3:55 pm
